Mediabridge - 3 Port Smart HDMI Switch Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I have an Apple TV and Blu-ray player but only one HDMI port on my TV and I was getting tired of manually swapping the HDMI cable between the them. I was also worried that over time the HDMI cable/port would degrade from the constant handling so I began hunting for a HDMI switch.
After comparing HDMI switches, I finally decided to go with the 3 port HDMI smart switch from Mediabridge. My main reason was based on price and the reviews. I'm very happy with this device (I don't usually go through the trouble of writing reviews so that says something)! It's not as expensive as a lot of the others I found and does exactly what I need it to do. It's compact and silent so I can discretely tuck it behind my TV with the rest of the cables and doesn't require an external power source (yay one less cable).
It includes an IR receiver and remote to manually switch between the 3 ports but it's a 'smart' switch so I was happy to discover that I didn't have to bother with using those accessories since it switches between my devices automagically. Apple TV owners will discover that it constantly outputs a signal (even if you put it to sleep), so the switch will constantly make the port the Apple TV is plugged into the active port. I put my Apple TV on port 3 and my Blu-ray player on port 1. When I power up my Blu-ray player, port one automatically becomes active without any intervention from me. After I power down my Blu-ray player, the Apple TV resumes making port 3 active. I love how it seamlessly switches between the two without me needing to do anything. The only caveat is I have to power on/off my Blu-ray player, which I do anyway so not a big deal. The switch also has a button on it you can press to cycle between the different ports if you need to, but as I already mentioned it switches automatically for me so I don't use that feature.
I'm also very happy with the video and audio quality I get with using this switch. It claims to have full HD 1080P Support and supports HDMI 1.3 which I can't verify since my TV only supports up to 720p but I can say that I have not noticed any degradation in video or audio quality while using it.
Keep in mind that you may need to purchase additional HDMI cables as none are included with this switch. You need one cable from the switch to your TV and an additional HDMI cable for each port you use on the switch. I picked up 2 Mediabridge HDMI cables for about $10 each with my order and they work great with my setup.

15ft Ultra-High Speed HDMI Cable - Version 1.3b Category 2 - 1080p - Gold Plated Connectors - Nylon Braided Cord for Maximum Noise Reduction - PS3 - Blu-Ray Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I purchased this cable to connect a blu-ray player to my HD TV. The cable was sent in a clear plastic bag with no specifications on the package or the cable. The cable is apparently not high speed as advertised because the blu-ray player will not work at all with this cable. I also tried it with our satellite receiver and the picture was pink and faded in and out. Do not buy this cable! I had previously purchased a "green" cable from Amazon and the blu-ray player and satellite both work great with the "green" cable.

Link Depot HDMI to HDMI Cable (25 feet) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This cable works great between my Panasonic DMP-BD35-K Panasonic Blu-ray player and Panasonic HD projector.
In my research I had read that there may be problems when running long HDMI cables. I had also read that the issues depended on the devices connected at the two ends. Previously I was using a component-video cable between the two.
The end result of switching to the HDMI connection is just eye-popping. Upconverted DVD's look almost as good as Blu-ray disks.
The connectors hook up comfortably and snug in the HDMI sockets. The cable also survived some harsh tugging as I pulled it through the wall and ceiling on its way to the projector which is mounted on the ceiling.

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I got this HDMI cable for under $10 with free shipping with Amazon Prime. I originally went to BestBuy and picked up a $[...] HDMI cable.
When I saw the low price I couldn't resist and took a shot.
I tested both cables and first thing I noticed was the length.
BestBuy was 5Ft and this is 6Ft.
Test 1:
Tested Sony 50 inch HD TV.
Both cables offered the same Audio and Video quality.
Test 2:
Tested Panasonic BlueRay watching Avatar.
Might as well try on the best movie for graphics.
As expected both cables performed the same.
Test 3:
Tested HP DV7 Laptop streaming Fox TV (Bones).
As expected both cables performed the same.
End result both cables offer the same video and audio quality.
RND Version is longer and at a lower price.
BestBuy received a return and I picked up 2 more from RND.

I searched amazon for a good hdmi solution and got really impressed for the price on this solution I was a little skeptical with its low price, but it turns out that it works great.

6-foot HDMI CABLE for SONY BRAVIA LCD HD TV HDTV/DVD Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I bought this expecting to have a working HDMI cable. After hooking this up to my 50 inch Samsung plasma with my Xbox 360, I soon found out that the price definitely says a lot about this cable. The sound cuts out completely, will occasionally come through. The visual itself chooses to work when it wants, then when it does, random blue lines are displayed or flicker across the screen. If you're looking for a VERY basic HDMI cable, this is yours, but if you're looking for a great picture, don't cheap out like I did.

6ft PTC Premium Gold Series Elegant Dual Tone HDMI Cable, Supports Deep Color Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)[Anyone remembers the old "I am not going to spend a lot for this muffler" commercial?]
[NOTE: I bought TWO Premium Gold Series cables and I actually took home one Monster cable at one time so maybe I know what I am talking about :)]
Just in case someone may feel guilty for not paying a lot more for, basically the same thing, let's look at our top of the line offer, Monster HDMI 1000HD Ultra-High Speed HDMI Cable (2 meters) and do a quick comparison.
The Gold Series item supports the HDMI 1.3 standard. Any HDMI 1.3 cable can carry up to 10.2 Gbit/s. Hmmm... I suppose the Monster is much better, right? Well... it "guarantees a certified cable bandwidth of 10.2" Okay, but the Monster also supports "x.v.Color, and Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD". It turns out that, all of the above, and more, are part of the HDMI 1.3 specs and they are fully supported by every cable that complies to the standard and can be had for about 95% less in the Premium Gold. The expensive brand presentation simply enumerates the HDMI 1.3 specs as if it being HDMI 1.3 compliant was a really big deal. It is not a big deal. Even a cable that costs 95% less is HDMI 1.3 compliant.
My suggestion: if you think that the proponents of the expensive brand have a point when they claim that their product is a lot more durable, buy TWO Premium Gold wires and still pay almost 90% less than you would pay for one of the expensive ones.
My personal experience: I've never paid 'a lot' for an HDMI cable because it makes no sense to pay more. I took home one of the 'expensive' ones once because the salesman promised to take it back if I wasn't amazed by the difference. It made zero difference and I returned it.

J-Tech Digital Premium Quality HDMI 4 Port Splitter Supports both 2D and 3D Full HD Video with Latest Technology Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I bought this splitter so I could split the HDMI out of my PS3 to both the living room and bedroom TV's, and it did not disappoint. Simple construction of just a compact box which doesn't seem to have a lot of "play" for things to break inside. Works as described, and now I watch Netflix and play PS3 games in the living room and bedroom. There's no delay in the signal, judging from the fact that I've played Madden from the bedroom against a friend in the living room. Quality product.
